Imagine how surprised the drivers on our street were when they came upon this sight!
Blogging… What was I thinking? A year ago, as I was contemplating a move back to the States from Seoul, South Korea, I promised my photography students that I would start a blog. I wanted to keep in touch and continue the conversation.
Home to the States… to children… grandchildren… a puppy??? Then, a few necessary house repairs turned into a major home renovation. Throw in trips to Europe and South Africa. A year later, here I am, starting over on that blog. The renovation is almost complete, and I’m committed to reconnecting!
I had envisioned a blog made up of short tips. I teach people how to use their cameras, and I know how busy their lives are. I wanted to add to their knowledge without overwhelming them. And I wanted to keep it simple and understandable. I’m a self-professed geek and love studying photography and technology. Most people I teach just want to enjoy their cameras, and laptops, and phones and all those other contraptions that sometimes don’t work. I love the challenge of seeing a problem, hunting for the answer and then teaching it!
So, to those people who started following me last year, I’m finally back. For the rest of you, welcome!
Today’s quick tip? Do you have an iPhone or iPad? Have you downloaded the new operating system? If you’re having trouble seeing the names of the apps on your home screen, here’s something that will help. Go to Settings, select General, then Accessibility. Turn Increase Contrast on. Then, turn Bold Text on. Your iPhone or iPad will need to restart. That’s it. Those faint app names will now be easier to read.

Wonderful to have you back Miss Caroline!
Caroline, you may remember me as Skip’s “old” secretary in Denver. I am amazed at your size and plan…visit it often. I hope you are all well. My brother and I are fine in Texas. Spent today putting on a barbeque, silent auction, etc. to support two ladies who walk in the Avon Cancer walk. Bill, my brother does the cooking for this big event every year. I have been thiinking of getting a camera…….perhaps you will inspire me. Best regards. Michele
Hi Michele, I certainly do remember you! Thanks for getting in touch! Sounds like you are busy in Texas, doing wonderful things for people! 🙂 If you get a camera, I do hope I’ll be your inspiration!
